Casa Mar

Mr. & Mrs. Diaz Residence
Plantation Key, Florida

Project Size: 8,000 SF

Completion: 2019

Budget: N/A

The project consists of a single-family residence with a detached guest quarter, fronting the Atlantic Ocean in Plantation Key, Fl. The plan consists of Main house containing approximately 6,000 SF of gross area on three (3) floors; with exterior terraces, balconies and decks. The property also has a separate guess quarters building with approximately 1,500 SF on two (2) floors, its own parking, lanai and lap pool for the guest to enjoy.

The house is Modern in design, and it takes full advantage of the ocean views. Every room has exposure to the Atlantic Ocean allowing for full unobstructed views. The Guest house uses the same principle and it was intended to be very private not only for the guest that might stay at the property but also if the owner would like to rent it out during the season.

The entire design is based on energy efficiency and solar passive features. The house incorporates the latest smart house technology as well as self-sustainable systems. The design incorporates the use of cisterns for water collection, water purifiers, solar panels, battery operated generators, gas appliances, hi-security, indigenous landscaping, and fully integrated computerized smart systems.

The construction materials are basic concrete, glass, keystone (quarried) and wood (teak or Ipe). We carefully planed every facet of the project in order to maximize the end-users program and at the same time come in within the established conservative budgets for construction.

The project once completed will have spectacular views in a pristine site with the feel of living outside year-round in the Florida Keys. From the entrance cascading waterfall to the bamboo interior/exterior garden to the hi-ceilings and monumental three story staircase; the expansive glass that completely opens up to the exterior; culminating it with the entertainment deck and infinity pool, it does not get any better when it comes to living.
